Foundational Principles & Values: We build upon the following foundation...
  • 1. Our statement of faith is a living expression of the doctrinal foundations upon which we stand.

  • 2. Our unity is establisted in our Christ-centered vision.
    • - We experience unity in the midst of diversity as we are fitted together in Christ.
    • - We are vision led rather than issue, opinion, need, or comfort level driven.
    • - We are willing to submit peripheral issues to the centrality of Christ.
    • - Our methodologies will be flexible and creative while our message remains changeless.
    • - Change is normal, continual, and expected.

  • 3. Our life and vitality as a congregation is dependent upon prayer.
    • - Our work will flow out of resting in His presence through prayer.
    • - Prayer is not peripheral to our programs, it is the atmosphere in which our programs will be fruitful.

  • 4. Our purpose is to develop fully devoted followers of Christ.
    • - Characteristics of a fully devoted follower of Christ include:
      • a. Intimacy with God
      • b. Healthy relationships
      • c. Values shaped by the Word
      • d. Stewardship of time, finances, & talents
      • e. Knowledge of gift mix and using them in ministry
      • f. Sharing Christ through word and deed
    • - Discipleship development is both knowledge based and relationship oriented.

  • 5. Our conviction is that every Member of the body is a minister.
    • - We will seek to discover what our gifts are.
    • - Our primary ministry will reflect our giftedness.
    • - We are all called to do our part that the whole work will be done.

  • 6. Our leadership has the responsibility and authority to lead the body and equip it for the work of ministry.
    • - Spirit empowered and directed, congregationally responsive and recognized leadership is a gift from God to the body for the building up of the body.
    • - Leadership is given to help discover, develop, and coordinate the gifts of  the body.
    • - Leaders at all levels mentor potential leaders.

  • 7. Our church is to be a force, not a fortress.
    • - We will actively seek to expand the kingdom of God from our neighborhood to the nations
    • - Our stance toward the world will be offensive, not defensive.
    • - We will seek to represent the community in which we live in its diversity.
    • - We will seek to establish partnerships with other believers and congregations in fulfilling our common purpose.

  • 8. Our church is committed to developing healthy body life.
