A couple years ago I planted a new rose hedge in my
back yard. That first year I planted four rose bushes.
The next summer I had six bushes in that hedge. What
had happened? I did not plant two additional bushes.
However, the bushes I had planted the previous year
had reproduced two new bushes. Those new bushes
are called rhizomes.

Awesome, Interesting Youth Group Experiences
This year we have been working as a group to study every
aspect of Jesus’ life on earth, focusing like a laser beam
on Jesus. When He encountered people what did He do?
How did He discern what was happening in their lives?
What did they need to hear and learn? What impact did
He have on others?
We meet about twice a month at our house or the
Reises’, start each gathering with a meal, and then move
into worship, Bible study, and always prayer.
We love couches and food! --Brad Englund
Yep, this Bible study is pretty kickin’. You should come
if, you know, you aren’t too old…
It’s good going to a Bible study where everyone has such a
strong desire to seek God and dig into His Word.
--Jonathan Underwood
I’m really looking forward to what God is going to
do this school year, and what He’s already doing.
I’ve been really compelled to be praying for my
friends at school, and I’ve already had opportunities
to share what I believe. I keep praying for
more opportunities and that my friends will be
open to His Word—and hopefully even come to
Bible study. --Bethany Englund
God’s been doing some crazy stuff. We have people from
junior high to college all able to engage in discussion and
learn together. We start out with food and fellowship,
then sometimes play a crazy game to burn off some
calories, and then do a little worship in the family room.
We spend time after all that studying Scripture (the
Gospel of John, at this point) and end the evening with
prayer. --David Englund
Youth group is a very interesting way to
learn about the Bible and interact with
others in our BCFM and BCF community,
you know. I really enjoy it—plus, the food
is great! --Renee Nebo
This is a pretty awesome youth group. The interaction
of everyone is great, and the atmosphere
allows people to speak out. This year I have had
a strong desire to serve God and go into a deeper
relationship with Him. I feel like this Bible study
has helped me with that. Great Bible study, and
don't forget the food. Jesus is cool, and so is this
youth group (although not quite as much as Jesus).
--Ben Reis
This is my first year at a youth group thing,
and so far I like it! It's nice to be around
people who also love God and want to know
more about Him. I feel comfortable knowing
that I can express God in my own way. Oh
yeah, by the way, Aunt Lynne's sloppy joes
are great! That motivates me to come, too :) --Hayven Reis
Hola! I’m Laura! The BCFM youth group has been
an awesome experience for me this year. Along with a
meal at the beginning, we have worship time and the
actual Bible study, where we read and discuss different
passages. Lately I have really put God’s Word into my
heart by being involved in a Bible-quizzing group. The
main topic for quizzing this year is the Book of Luke,
and I am excited to discuss those passages with the
BCFM youth group. --Laura Englund
For me the Minneapolis youth group has been
an interesting experience. It is interesting
because it isn’t like any other youth group I
have ever been to. Even though there are
parents present, they are normally not the ones
running the discussions. Also they allow the
youth to pick out the topics or the books of the
Bible we want to go through. The youth group
feels more like a Bible study to me because we
have open talks. Everyone knows what we are
going to talk about the next week so they can
study that topic or passage ahead of time.
Besides helping you grow deeper in your faith
it is also just a wonderful time to get to know
other kids who attend. I would recommend the
Minneapolis youth group to anyone who doesn’t
currently have a Bible study that is helping them
grow in their spiritual walk.
